Overview of hydrological situation of May 2, 2024

As of May 2, an increase in water levels with an intensity of 1-7 cm per day is observed on the Dnieper River in the Rechitsa–Loev section, the Berezina in the Berezino – Svetlogorsk section, the Neman near Stolbtsy, the Sozh near Slavgorod, the Pripyat near Narovlya and some small rivers. In the rest of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as in the Western Dvina and the Vilia, there is a decrease in water levels with a daily intensity of up to 50 cm.
Most of the country's rivers have floodplain water.
On the Dnieper near the town of Zhlobin, a tributary of the Sozh the river Pronya near the village Letyagi, the Pripyat near Petrikov and its tributary the Ptich River near the village of Persha Slobodka, water levels exceed dangerously high levels. Water levels are close to dangerously high levels on the Dnieper tributary Drut River near Gorodishche village, the Pripyat near Chernichi village, its tributaries Sluch rivers near agrotown Lenin and the village Dyatlovichi.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding of coastal territories is noted in a number of districts of the Gomel region, as well as in some areas of the Brest and Mogilev regions.
The water temperature has increased and ranges in rivers from 9.4°C to 18°C, in reservoirs from 11°C to 15°C.
In the coming days, a decline in water levels will prevail on the rivers, as a result of which the water level on the Dnieper near Zhlobin will drop below a dangerously high level.
