During the past period (September 5-9), fluctuations in water levels were observed on the rivers; on the Ross River, a tributary of the Neman, near the village of Studenets, the water level dropped below the mark of water outflow onto the floodplain, while on the Western Dvina near Vitebsk the water level rose above the mark limiting navigation.
As of September 10, on the Pripyat, most of the Western Dvina and the Sozh, the Neman near Grodno, the Viliya near the agro-town of Steshitsy, the Dnieper in the section Orsha – Mogilev, and the Berezina near Bobruisk, a slight (1-8 cm per day) rise in water levels and their steady course are observed.
Unfavorable conditions for river transport operations persist on the Neman near Grodno, the Dnieper near Mogilev, Zhlobin, Rechitsa and the urban settlement of Loyev, the Berezina near Bobruisk and Svetlogorsk, the Sozh near Krichev, Slavgorod and Gomel, and the Pripyat near the village of Chernichi and Mozyr.
Water temperature in the rivers ranges from 11°C to 21°C, and in reservoirs from 16°C to 19°C.
In the coming days, no significant changes in the water level and thermal regimes of the rivers are expected.
