Overview of hydrological situation of September 20, 2023
As of September 20, a slight increase in water levels is observed on the Western Dvina near the village of Surazh, the Neman on the site of Stolbtsy – Mosty, Vilia on the site of Mikhalishki – Small Sviryanki, the Berezina near Bobruisk and the Pripyat on the site of Chernichi – Petrikov. For the rest of the above-mentioned rivers, as well as on the Dnieper and Sozh, there is a decline (up to 5 cm per day) of water levels and their smooth course.
Unfavorable conditions for river transport remain on the Western Dvina near Vitebsk, the Neman near Grodno, the Dnieper near Mogilev, Zhlobin, Rechitsa and Loev, the Berezina near Bobruisk and Svetlogorsk, the Sozh near Krichev, Slavgorod and Gomel.
The water temperature in the rivers of the Berezina basin ranges from 11°C to 17°C, in the basins of the Western Dvina, the Neman, the Vilia, the Dnieper and the Sozh – from 12°C to 18°C, in the basins of the Western Bug and the Pripyat – from 14°C to 20°C. In the reservoirs of the country, the water temperature is 17-19°C.
No significant changes in the level and thermal regimes of rivers are expected in the coming days.
