Today, June 17, a working meeting was held at Belhydromet with a delegation from the Meteorological Organization of Iran, as well as representatives of JSC "Academician A.A. Raspletin Almaz Research and Production Association" and LLC "Institute of Radar Meteorology."

The Belarusian side was headed by the Head of Belhydromet, Siarhei Khilman. Welcoming the guests, Sergei Khilman noted that it is a great honor for Belhydromet to host representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation. He emphasized that Belarus, Iran, and Russia share long-standing friendly relations and a high level of political dialogue, and that the Belarusian hydrometeorological service is ready to contribute to the development of multilateral cooperation in the field of meteorology. The Head of Belhydromet also gave a brief overview of the modern capabilities of the Belarusian observation network, which has undergone large-scale modernization in recent years.
The Russian colleagues from LLC "Institute of Radar Meteorology" – First Deputy Director Nikolay Bocharnikov and Deputy Director for Meteorological Radar Alexander Lyalyushkin – demonstrated the main technical capabilities of the digital platform "MeteoCube," including new tools for visualizing meteorological parameters.
The Head of the Meteorological Forecasting Service, Marina Gritskevich, briefed the Iranian delegation on the use of radar data obtained through the automated meteorological radar complex "MeteoYacheika" in the operations of the hydrometeorological service of the Republic of Belarus.
Belhydromet specialists also highlighted the advantages of these systems, emphasizing their effectiveness.

In turn, the Head of the Communications and Telecommunications Service, Igor Birulya, demonstrated the functional capabilities of the Belhydromet meteorological data collection and processing center.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the operation of the Doppler meteorological radar (DMRL).
Currently, five modern DMRLs are operational in Belarus – at the airports of Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno, and Gomel. The coverage radius of each reaches 200 kilometers, and observations are conducted every 10 minutes, covering the entire territory of the country.
As part of the business program, the guests visited the DMRL Minsk, located near the Minsk National Airport, where the Chief Engineer of Belhydromet, Evgeny Mayevsky, together with the Head of the Aviation Meteorological Support Service, Andrey Petrochenko, and other specialists, provided detailed information about the operational features and technical equipment of the radar, as well as answered all questions regarding Belarus's radar network.
The meeting with the Iranian and Russian colleagues took place in a friendly atmosphere and became another step toward strengthening professional ties between the hydrometeorological services of the three countries.
