Forecast information on minimum water levels in rivers in September 2021
In August, water level fluctuations were noted on the rivers of the country. The minimum water levels in certain sections of the rivers of the Dnieper, Sozh and Pripyat basins approached the multiyear minimums for August, and on the Lan River near the village of Mokrovo (a tributary of the Pripyat) the value of the minimum water level dropped below the historical minimum for this time of year.
The water content of the Neman and Viliya was close to the usual for this time of year, the water content of the Dnieper, Berezina and Sozh was 30-40% less than the norm, and the water content of the Western Dvina, Western Bug and Pripyat was 50-60% less than the norm.
As of the date of the forecast, water levels on the rivers of the Srana are rising almost everywhere. Unfavorable conditions for the operation of river transport are noted on the Western Dvina near Vitebsk, Neman near Grodno, Dnieper near Mogilev, Zhlobin, Rechitsa and Loev, Berezina near Bobruisk and Svetlogorsk, Sozhe near Krichev, Slavgorod and Gomel.
