R-NOX LLC and the state institution "Republican Center for Hydrometeorology, Radioactive Contamination Control and Environmental Monitoring" (Belhydromet) have completed the first stage of comparative testing of the AirNode gas and aerosol analyzer.
The testing was carried out at the Belhydromet site in Minsk using stationary HORIBA reference equipment. The purpose of the program was to assess the comparability of measurement results for pollutant concentrations obtained using the small-sized AirNode analyzer and the reference gas analyzers used in the state ambient air monitoring system.

Results of the first stage
In the period from 5 to 25 June 2026, specialists carried out comparative measurements of the concentrations of nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O₃), and sulfur dioxide (SO₂).
The results obtained showed a high degree of consistency between the AirNode measurements and the reference equipment for three pollutants: NO₂, CO, and O₃.
Pollutant Coefficient of determination R² Average Relative Erro
Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) 0,9544 21,24%
Carbon monoxide (CO) 0,9539 10,15%
Ozone (O₃) 0,9491 6,74%
For sulfur dioxide (SO₂), additional observations are needed for a final assessment, since during the first stage the concentrations were predominantly in the low-value range, insufficient for a full comparative analysis.
Practical significance of the testing
Testing on Belhydromet's existing infrastructure makes it possible to evaluate the characteristics of small-sized analyzers in comparison with reference equipment and to obtain professional feedback for further improvement of the technology.
Mikhail Kovalenko, Deputy Head of Belhydromet:
"For the state ambient air monitoring system, the accuracy and reliability of measurements are of paramount importance. Therefore, we are interested in an objective assessment of new technologies and their verification under real operating conditions. It is especially gratifying to see that Belarus has its own engineering school and highly qualified experienced specialists capable of developing, manufacturing, and servicing modern instruments for environmental monitoring. The first test results are encouraging, and we look forward to continued constructive cooperation with R-NOX."
Vadim Radzivill, Director of R-NOX LLC:
"The use of high-quality small-sized analyzers to complement traditional monitoring networks is a steady global trend. Reference stations remain the basis of state observations, while compact measurement solutions make it possible to significantly increase the density of the network and obtain a more detailed picture of air pollution in cities and industrial areas.
We see the practical effectiveness of this approach in the example of implemented projects in Russia, where R-NOX equipment is already used in regional systems and local ambient air monitoring systems. It is especially important to us that we can now continue developing the technology in close cooperation with Belhydromet — an organization with many years of expertise in the field of hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring."
Continuation of the program
The results of the first stage confirmed the promise of using AirNode for ambient air monitoring. Comparative testing is planned to continue in the near future. The next stage will make it possible to expand the observation dataset, further assess the stability of metrological characteristics, and obtain the necessary data for analyzing the equipment's operation under various climatic conditions.
R-NOX expresses its gratitude to Belhydromet specialists for their professional interaction and the opportunity to conduct comparative testing on the existing infrastructure of state monitoring.
